WINTER STORAGE

* Drain all water tanks, holding tanks, pumps and lines; you may want to use non-toxic RV antifreeze to be certain any remaining water doesn't freeze.
* Properly store your generator. Follow the generator manufacturers
recommendations.
* Use tape to keep your furnace and range hood closed.
* Fill the fuel tank and add a high-quality bio-cyde/fuel stabilizer to the fuel. Never
store a partially full tank of fuel.
* Service the fuel filters.
* Change the engine oil and filter; used oil does not give adequate protection.
* If the vehicle will be placed in storage for more than one year, follow the
instructions provided on the Allison Transmission Web Site.
* Lubricate the grease fittings on the chassis and drive train.
* Be sure the propane cylinder is turned off and the regulator covered.
* Before covering your air conditioner, clean out all the filters.
* Remove perishable food from the cabinets and refrigerator; leave refrigerator
doors open.
* Remove and clean the batteries (always disconnect the negative (-) cable first).
Store the battery in a cool dry place and keep it charged. Make sure to check the
water level in the batteries periodically.
* Pull your shades/blinds.
* Thoroughly clean your tires and set the tire pressure to maximum as indicated on
the sidewall of the tire. Ideally, the vehicle should be place on blocks to relieve
the weight from the tires. If this cannot be done a barrier (e.g., cardboard, plastic
or plywood) should be placed between the tire and the floor/ground surface and
the vehicle should be driven every three months to prevent flat tire spotting and
ozone cracking.
* Cover your tires to block direct sunlight and ultraviolet rays.

Winterizing- water pump filter may contain white plastic shavings from the water pipes that collect on the screen - place a towel under the filter and twist to remove it. Washer/dryer filters - access the dryer lint filter from the cabinet above. You may not need this filter since it is vented to the outside. You can eliminate it by cutting it off at the handle and sealing the handle in place. This filter has been eliminated in newer coaches. Open the door on the lower right side, unscrew the filter and clean it. Water filter - change the water filter under the sink! Adding antifreeze - drain the system. I installed a tee with a valve and tubing just before the water pump. Drop the tubing in the gallon of solution, turn on the pump and fill the system (one gallon will do it). Don't forget to run the washer through a cycle for a few seconds and then the spin cycle for a few seconds. Don't forget to take off the short length of water hose to the fresh water inlet on the coach. Mine was full of water. Then stick your finger into the hose connector, push on the little button. Water will flow back out and then so will some of the antifreeze. Draining Water Tank - 1) unhook from city water. 2) Turn off water pump. 3) Open faucets inside the coach. 4) Open the three drains under the coach - one at the hot water tank, one on the curbside and one near the water pump. 5) When filling do it slowly or you will get too much air in the tank and it doesn't have space to escape (editor's note - your operator's manual suggests opening the door to your fresh water manual fill and removing the cap to let air escape). Water will bubble out and you will think the tanks are full and they are not. When filling slowly, the air has space to escape. PS: Make sure you close all three valves before filling.
