Minutes of FMCA Alfa Chapter
Monday, May 19, 2003
Sevierville, Tennessee
The first meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by Bruce Monte with approximately 35 people in attendance. The purpose of the meeting was to explain what was necessary to form a new chapter in the Family Motor Coach Association and to determine the interest from Alfa Motorhome owners in establishing such a chapter. It was made clear that Alfa Leisure, Inc supports this activity but is not sponsoring the FMCA chapter. Membership in the existing Alfa Sun Dancers chapters should continue and not conflict with the new FMCA chapter. When attending Alfa rallies, members would be expected to participate in their individual Alfa chapter functions.
Bruce suggested our chapter would have at least four rallies per year, each in a different part of the country. A newsletter would be issued quarterly to keep members aware of upcoming events. It was decided that annual dues of $10 per coach would be due by July 1 of each year and an additional $10 initiation fee would be paid the first year. Names for the chapter were discussed and AlfaSeeYas was agreed upon.
A request was made for volunteers to fill the various offices with the following results:
President Bruce Monte
Vice President Sue Conant
Treasurer Rosemary Monte
Secretary Karen Hugo
Newsletter Editor Jim Huber
National Director Ken Sims
Alt National Dir. Tony Monson
Officers will serve for a period of two years.
An address list was created showing the pertinent information for those present who were interested in joining the AlfaSeeYas and money was collected for dues and initiation fees.
Bruce will send a check for $35 to FMCA along with a list of the charter members to officially register AlfaSeeYas as an FMCA chapter. Bruce will also submit a form to Alfa Leisure for inclusion in the new owner’s packet advising of the Alfa chapter of FMCA and how to join or get more information if interested.
The meeting ended at 10:00 a.m.
